Every roof we install uses the same premium underlayment, accessories, ventilation, flashings, and labor. The only thing that changes between tiers is the shingle brand you choose — and the per-square rate that goes with it.
Labor, underlayment, ice & water shield, flashings, ventilation, tear-off and disposal are the same price on every roof. The per-square tier price covers the field shingle plus the matching hip & ridge cap shingle — hip and ridge caps have to match the class and type of the shingle you pick, so they're bundled into one honest per-square number.
These per-square numbers are what the manufacturer charges us — passed through at cost, with zero markup on the shingle system. We show it this way so you can see exactly why a heavier or Class 4 impact-resistant shingle costs more: it's the material, not a hidden margin.
Premium-tier shingles — GAF Timberline UHDZ, Owens Corning Duration Storm, CertainTeed Landmark ClimateFlex, and TAMKO StormFighter Flex — carry a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating. Many homeowners-insurance carriers offer a premium credit on the wind/hail portion of your policy when a Class 4 roof is installed. Any discount is set by your carrier and must be verified with your agent — it is not automatic, not guaranteed, and varies by carrier, policy, and location.
RoofReplacementStore.com is a roofing contractor, not an insurance agent or broker, and does not quote, guarantee, or promise any specific insurance savings. Contact your licensed agent to confirm eligibility on your policy.
The tier price shown is the per-square shingle cost. Your final proposal adds the fixed cost of underlayment, accessories, labor, haul-off, and permits — and shows cash, financing, and credit-card prices side by side.
Every shingle we install is a quality architectural (or premium) system. The real differences show up in wind rating, UL 2218 impact class, and warranty coverage. Use this to pick with confidence.
Prices below are the shingle + matching hip & ridge cap package — Standard $120/sq, Mid-Tier $150/sq, Premium $175/sq, at cost with no markup. Underlayment, ice & water, flashings, labor, dump & haul, and warranty are the same on every roof. Example totals use a 35-square roof so you can compare apples to apples.
We use a simple Bronze / Silver / Gold system so you can see which shingle from each brand plays in the same league — same price, same class, different manufacturer.
The rest of the roof — labor, underlayment, ice & water, flashings, ventilation, permits, dump & haul, and workmanship warranty — is a fixed $200/sq on every roof, regardless of shingle tier. Only the shingle + hip/ridge package changes the total.
| Tier | Shingle + hip/ridge | Everything else | Combined / sq | 35-sq total |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Bronze tierStandard | $120/sq $4,200 | $200/sq $7,000 | $320/sq | $11,200 |
Silver tierMid-Tier | $150/sq $5,250 | $200/sq $7,000 | $350/sq | $12,250 |

Prices shown at cost with no markup — for education and transparency. Final proposal reflects your actual roof measurements and any site-specific conditions (steep pitch, redeck, windstorm, permits).
Highest UL 2218 rating. Best hail resilience and may qualify for a homeowners-insurance premium credit — verify with your carrier.
Improved impact performance over standard architectural shingles. Some carriers offer a smaller credit; most reserve the full discount for Class 4.
Quality architectural shingles built to code — but not UL 2218 rated. Typically will not qualify for an impact-resistant insurance discount.
Wind ratings and warranty terms are summarized from each manufacturer’s published product data and limited warranty. Actual coverage depends on proper installation, use of matching accessories, and the specific limited warranty in effect at the time of installation. Always refer to the manufacturer’s written warranty for complete terms.
A typical single-story home has about 2.25× more roof than living area (a 2,000 sqft house is roughly a 4,500 sqft roof). Drag the slider to see the ballpark for your home across all three tiers.
Ballpark only. Uses a single-story 2.25× roof-to-home ratio and doesn’t account for pitch, multiple stories, complex geometry, redeck, windstorm engineering, or permit fees. Final proposal is based on precise measurements of your actual roof.
Two roofs the same square footage can price very differently. Complexity, number of stories, and steepness all change labor time, waste factor, and safety requirements.

Two roof planes, one ridge, low pitch, easy access. Less labor, minimal waste, fewer flashings — prices come in on the lower end of the ballpark.

Multiple hips, valleys, dormers, steeper pitch, harder access. More labor hours, more waste, more flashings and safety setup — prices trend higher.
Every roof is different — final price varies with complexity, number of stories, and steepness. Our goal is simple: be as transparent as possible so you can make the right decision for your home.
